We are excited to announce that six authorized Carolina Skiff dealers were recently recognized as part of Boating Industry’s Top 100 Dealers in North America!
The official announcement was made during the magazine’s black-tie gala in December.
“From the thousands of dealers in North America — and hundreds of nominations — these 100 dealers are the best of the best,” said Top 100 Program Director Jonathan Sweet. “With growth of more than 16 percent, this elite group more than doubled the growth rate of the industry as a whole.”
Since 2005, Boating Industry has compiled the Top 100 list as a way to recognize outstanding dealerships in business operations, professionalism, marketing tactics, customer service and more.
Ranking at number nine out of 100 was West Palm Beach, Florida and Carolina Skiff dealer Marine Connection.
The 2018 recognition by Boating Industry is actually Marine Connection’s 10th time receiving such an honor, and its second time being ranked in the Top 10.
Also ranked within the Top 20 was Carolina Skiff dealer BMC Boats, which is based in Longwood, Florida and came in at number 11, respectively.
BMC Boats President and Owner Bill Fulton said being recognized by Boating Industry is a huge honor, especially because it is one of the few dealerships in the Top 20 with only one location.
“A lot of the dealers to hit the Top 20 have multiple locations,” Fulton said, who has owned the company since 1998 with his wife, Paula. “We’re pretty proud that we’re a single-location dealer in the Top 20. We worked hard to get it.”

Fulton said his dealership is successful because of his team, their commitment to giving back to the community and their dedication to creating the ultimate buying experience. He added that the dealership hosts regular fundraisers for the Humane Society and also partners with Yamaha during the holiday season to give toys to children in need.
Something else that Fulton said sets his dealership apart is the monthly BMC Boats Cruise Club!
“If you buy a boat from BMC Boats, you are automatically a member of this exclusive club,” writes Fulton on his Website bmcboats.com. “Cruise Club members travel all over Florida in the comfort of your own boat as we visit exciting destinations.”
As an authorized Carolina Skiff dealer, Fulton said the brand is one of the top selling lines in his area, which helps to bring customers to his family-owned and operated business.
Pasadena Boat Works General Manager Nick Doetsch said having the right team is one of the reasons his Maryland-based dealership was recognized as one of the Top 100 dealers in North America.
“If you do things right, you have good systems, good customer service and you have the right talent,” said Doetsch, who’s been with Pasadena Boat Works since it opened five years ago. “That really is the key. You need to have the right people who have skills in every section of your organization.”
Doetsch said another reason his dealership is so successful is because of the Carolina Skiff brand popularity in Maryland.
“The fact that we are able to have a boat brand that sells well because of the name makes the interaction with our customers a lot easier,” said Doetsch. “Having that name and a brand that’s recognized within the industry is massive. Even people who aren’t that familiar with boating know about Carolina Skiff.”
Doetsch said he believes the Boating Industry Top 100 is important because it recognizes dealers who are working to drive the boating industry forward.
“It really brings together all the key players in the marine industry,” he added.
Also recognized within the Top 100 is Cape Coral, Florida and Carolina Skiff dealer The Boat House, Carolina Skiff dealer Short’s Marine in Millsboro, Delaware, and Carolina Skiff, Sea Chaser and Fun Chaser dealer Parks Marina in Okoboji, Iowa.
